Day1 Tomamu

Upon arriving at New Chitose Airport, you will be greeted by your Englishspeaking assistant, who will escort you to your waiting private coach.

From here, we embark on a scenic drive to your first destination, Tomamu. As we travel along the highway, the sprawling farmlands and lush forests lining the road will spark your excitement for the adventure ahead in Hokkaido.

Tomamu is a popular winter resort, attracting snow sports enthusiasts from around the world. Here, you'll feel as though you are living in the clouds, surrounded by the majestic Hidaka Mountains and pristine nature.

Day2 Lake Akan

After breakfast, meet your English-speaking guide for a full-day private tour to Lake Akan.

The adventure begins in Shikaoi Town, where you'll experience the thrill of dog sledding across a vast snow-covered landscape. Under

the clear blue sky, powerful dogs will pull your sled through the pristine white scenery, covering over 10 kilometers in what will seem like no time at all. You’ll also have the chance to interact with the dogs and capture some epic photos of your adventure.

Next, we'll enjoy a delicious lunch at a local restaurant, offering seasonal delicacies unique to this rural area.

We then journey to Lake Akan, a caldera lake born from the volcanic activity, now part of a national park. Lake Akan is renowned for its marimo, a rare and protected algae species, and its untouched natural beauty. The area is also deeply connected to

the Ainu, the indigenous people of Hokkaido. A visit to Ainu Kotan Village will immerse you in their rich traditions and spiritual connection to the land.

After arriving, you can explore the hot spring town and Ainu Kotan at your own pace.

Day3 Lake Kussharo - Shiretoko

After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will lead you on a full-day private tour to Shiretoko.

Our first stop is Lake Kussharo, Japan’s largest caldera lake, known for its numerous hot springs, unique steaming areas, and natural open-air baths. Here, you'll embark on a snow viewing canoe ride along the source of the Kushiro River. The warm water and cold air create a surreal mist as you paddle through the serene, untouched waters—a truly enchanting experience. Don’t worry about the cold; you'll stay warm in a dry suit designed for winter.

 

Next, we visit Mount Io (Iozan), where you can witness the earth’s raw power as steam still rises from the ground. Finally, we head to Shiretoko, where you can relax and recharge surrounded by nature.

Day4 Shiretoko

After breakfast, join your local guide for a full-day private tour of Shiretoko. 

This untouched natural paradise, a UNESCO World Natural Heritage site since 2005, is a haven for wildlife and diverse ecosystems.

 

During the morning, you’ll explore Shiretoko’s vast wilderness on a snowshoe trek. In winter, the landscape is blanketed in deep snow, with views of the Shiretoko Mountain Range and the expansive Sea of Okhotsk. As you trek, you’ll discover frozen waterfalls, animal tracks, and breathtaking vistas unique to this pristine region.


In the afternoon, you'll have the opportunity to observe majestic raptors like the Steller's Sea Eagle and White-tailed Eagle, both natural monuments that visit Shiretoko in winter. With binoculars and telescopes, you'll watch these powerful birds scan the sea and rivers for prey, and you might even witness them dive into the ocean to catch fish. Seeing these massive eagles, with wingspans over 2 meters, is an unforgettable experience. During the tour, you may also spot Ezo deer, red foxes, and if you're lucky, seals resting on the drifting ice. Encountering these rare animals in their natural habitat is a truly unique and priceless experience.


Optional Tour : (February to March only)

You’ll have the rare opportunity to walk on the drift ice (February to March only). Wearing a dry suit, you’ll venture onto the mystical drift ice that has traveled over 1,000 kilometers from the Sea of Okhotsk. This once-in-a-lifetime experience will leave you in awe of the dramatic scenery and icy expanse. Capture unforgettable photos and cherish the memories.

 

As the sun begins to go down, we’ll visit Sunset Park to watch the sun sink into the Sea of Okhotsk—a truly spectacular sight. In the evening, explore the local cuisine in Shiretoko’s town.

Day5 Abashiri-Kitami

After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will accompany you on a full-day private tour to Abashiri.

Our first stop is Oshinkoshin Waterfall, where you can witness the frozen cascades in all their glory.

Next, we head to the Okhotsk Ryuhyo Museum, where you’ll learn about the drift ice and the fascinating creatures that inhabit these frigid waters. You’ll even have the chance to see real drift ice up close.

After lunch, we board the icebreaker ship for an exhilarating cruise through the drift ice. Watching the ship carve a path through the frozen sea is truly awe-inspiring, and the endless expanse of ice stretching to the horizon will leave you speechless.

We then continue to Kitami, a town known as the home of curling, where several Olympic athletes have trained. Kitami is also famous for its unique barbecue style, so consider exploring local eateries with your guide.

Day6 Asahikawa - Sapporo

After breakfast, your English-speaking guide will take you on a full-day private tour to Sapporo.

Today involves a lot of driving as we make our way back to the city. Our first stop is Sounkyo Gorge, famous for its natural hot springs. We’ll visit the spectacular Ginga and Ryusei Waterfalls, where the frozen cascades create an incredible winter scene.

 

For lunch, we head to Asahikawa, renowned for its unique ramen. The distinctive noodles and broth offer a taste that’s different from the ramen you’ll find elsewhere in Japan—a must-try culinary experience.

After lunch, we’ll continue our drive to Sapporo.

Upon arrival, check in to your hotel and explore the vibrant nightlife in Susukino or stroll through Tanukikoji Shopping Street.

Day7 Sapporo

Today, enjoy exploring the city of Sapporo at your leisure. 

Here are some recommended tours:

•Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium: Visit the site used in the Winter Olympics and explore the history of ski jumping.

•Historical Village of Hokkaido: A fascinating open-air museum where you can walk through different areas representing life in Hokkaido from the Meiji to Showa eras. With 52 historic buildings, you’ll feel as though you’ve stepped back in time.

•Sapporo Beer Museum: For beer enthusiasts, a visit to this museum offers insights into the history and brewing process of Sapporo Beer, along with tastings of different varieties.

•Jogai Fish Market: A must-visit for seafood lovers, this market offers a wide variety of fresh fish and seafood. You can even have a giant snow crab prepared for you on the spot an unforgettable culinary experience.

Day8 Departure
